Transferring A Web Hosting Plan 



Purpose of Article:  Steps to submit a Web Hosting Plan Transfer Request.

Where do you manage the hosting plan you wish to transfer ?

Transferring a Web Hosting Plan to a WebControlCenter account which needs to be created.

Submit a verified ticket with the following information: (See KB Article: How to submit a verified ticket through the WebControlCenter.)

  1. New Account Owners information
    1. First and Last Name
    2. Email address
    3. Phone number
    4. Billing Address
  2. Agree to the following statements by copying and pasting them into the body of your verified ticket:
    1. I acknowledge that:
      1. All associated Pre Payments, Website Files, SSL Certificate, Databases, Emails, Domain Registration information, DNS files, and Extra Domains with their associated files will be transferred.
      2. Existing Payment Methods will be removed and the account will be set to a check (unless otherwise specifically specified).
      3. Any discounts the account may currently receive will be lost upon transfer.
      4. The name servers for any domains associated with this account may need to be updated after the account has been transferred. (This can result in website and email interruption while the name servers are updated and propagate throughout the internet.)
  3. Select, copy, and paste one of the following options into the body of the verified ticket:
    1. I wish to transfer the Billing History* to the New Account. I authorize Newtek to inform the new owner of any current outstanding balance and associated transactions, so that they can choose to accept responsibility for payment.
    2. Do not transfer the Billing History* to the New Account. I authorize Newtek to inform the new owner of any current outstanding balance and associated transactions, so that they can choose to accept responsibility for payment.


*Billing History Includes all associated: Invoices, Transactions, Receipts, and all information included therein (Billing Admin Names, Physical Addresses, Payment Amounts, Discount Amounts, Credits Issued, and Payment Methods used (Credit Cards include Card Types and last 4 digits of card number.))



Once we have received your verified ticket request, as stated above, with the required information, we will contact the New Account Owner via the email address provided in the verified ticket to inform of your request. Please inform the new account owner to look for and promptly respond to any emails from techservice@thesba.com.

Transferring a Web Hosting Plan to an Existing WebControlCenter Account


Submit a verified ticket with the following information: (See KB Article: How to submit a verified ticket through the WebControlCenter.)

  1. New Account Owners Information
    1. Customer ID of Receiving Party's Account, if possible.
    2. First and Last Name.
    3. Email Address.
    4. Phone Number
      1. Note: Domain Name Servers (NS) may change as a result of the transfer. Domain(s) managed at a different registrars, will need to be pointed to the new NS, once the transfer is complete. The new NS information will be provided to the new account holder once the transfer is complete. Updating a Domain’s Name Server Info will result in temporary downtime for the website and email due to propagation which can take from 12 to 72 hrs.
  2. Agree to the following statements by coping and pasting them into the body of your verified ticket:
    1. I acknowledge that:
      1. All associated Pre Payments, Website files,  SSL Certificate, Database, Emails, Domain Registration information, DNS files, and Extra Domains with their associated files will be transferred.

Transferring A Web Hosting Plan to a WSM Account Which Needs to be Created


 

Submit a verified ticket with the following information: (See KB Article: How to submit a verified ticket through the WSM.)

  1. Select, copy, and paste which of the following you'll be transferring. Keep in mind that any add-addons attached to the service will be transferred.
    1. Webhosting Plan
    2. Domain Registration
    3. SSL Certificate
  2. Provide New Account Owners information
    1. First and Last Name
    2. Email address
    3. Phone number
    4. Billing Address
  3. Agree to the following statements by coping and pasting them into the body of your verified ticket:
    • I acknowledge that:
      1. NO associated Outstanding Balances, Payment Methods, Billing History (Invoices, Transaction, Receipts, or Quotes), will be moved with the account. If I wish to share these with the new customer, I will separately do so, by working with them directly.
      2. All associated Pre Payments, Website Files, Databases, Emails, DNS files, Add-ons, Domain Registration information (if transferring domain product), will be transferred.
      3. Any discounts the account may currently receive will be lost upon transfer.
      4. The name servers for any domains associated with this account may need to be updated after the account has been transferred. (This can result in website and email interruption while the name servers are updated and propagate throughout the internet.)

 

Once we have received your verified ticket request, as stated above, with the required information, we will contact the New Account Owner, via the email address provided, to inform them of your request.
