Generating a CSR in cPanel

CSR - Certificate Signing Request 
Before you can order a SSL Certificate, you must first generate a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) on the webserver. A CSR is an encrypted body of text which contains encoded information specific to your organization, country and domain name. The steps below will show you how to generate a CSR along with a private key. The private key is normally created at the same time that you create the CSR.

 
Steps to Generate the CSR
1. Login to your cPanel Account (For instructions click here)




2. Navigate to the Security Section and click  the SSL/TLS Manager icon.




3. Under Private Keys click "Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys."




4. Generate the Private Key



5. Return to the SSL Manager




6. Under Certificate Signing Requests, click "Generate, view, delete SSL Certificate signing requests."




7. Generate the CSR Request.




7. CSR is pasted.
