Email Address Setup for Microsoft Outlook 2007

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007 and go to Tools > Account Settings...

2. On the E-mail tab, click New...

3. On Auto Account Setup, click the checkbox: Manually configure server settings or additional server types.

4. Choose the Internet E-mail option and then click Next.

5. Provide the following:
  • Your name: (this is the name that will show up as "from" when you send messages).
  • Your email address: (e.g.
  • Your account type: (our email service supports both IMAP and POP3; Knowledge Base Article #1046 explains the differences between IMAP and POP3 if you need help deciding which to use.
  • Your incoming mail server: (which will be, where "" is your domain name).
  • Your outgoing mail server (SMTP): (which will also be, where "" is your domain name).
  • Your User name: (this is your email address).
  • Your Password: (this is the same password you use to access your web mail).
  • "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication" check box: Should be left unchecked.

Then click Next.

6. Click on the Outgoing Server tab, then click the checkbox: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Also click the radio button: Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Then click OK.

7. Click Finish.

***PLEASE NOTE: Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) commonly place a block for outbound email traffic to servers outside of their control. They do this by blocking the default port access for outbound mail servers, which is port 25. In some cases, you maybe need to make a modification to your email client to get around this block. We have opened an alternate port, 8889, to accommodate this, which ISPs have been deploying to protect outbound spam from their networks. To change your Outgoing server (SMTP) port, click on the Advanced tab, as shown below, and enter in 8889.***
