Email Password Requirements

As of May 17, 2011, all of our mail servers have increased their password requirements. This modification has been made to increase the security of customer mail accounts.

If a new mail user is created, or if an existing mail user changes their password, the new password will need to meet the minimum standards as stated below.

New mail passwords must now:
  • Be at minimum 8 characters in length.
  • Include at lest one numeric number.
  • Include at least one special character (e.g. !, @, #, $, %, etc.)
While existing mail-user passwords are not affected by these new password requirements, it is recommended that you update any existing mail user passwords to meet these higher security standards.
