How to configure an email server outside of the network

If an outside email server is being used, reference the following steps:

1. If applicable, download all available messages using a POP account for all email addresses that are already hosted on the email server.

2. Login to the Control Center at
and select the menu item MAIL and click on MAIL ADMIN. From the Primary Domain table, click on the DELETE link. This will remove the domain from the email server and remove all DNS MX records.

3. Create a host record (A) that points to the IP address of the outside email server. Next, create an MX record that points to the host record.
